A Brazilian retailer had an unpleasant surprise after purchasing a Renault Kwid E-Tech at an auction. Upon inspecting the vehicle, he discovered that the battery had been replaced with a concrete block, a detail that was not disclosed at the time of purchase.

The store B3 Car, specializing in auction sales, reported the case on social media and stated that they suffered a loss of over $7,000. Despite the situation, one of the employees joked that the only solution would be to “cut the car’s floor and pedal.”

This was not an isolated case. The previous year, another Renault Kwid E-Tech was found in the same condition, with a concrete block instead of a battery. The vehicle, which already had front-end damage, was auctioned off without the buyer knowing about this alteration. The case went viral on the internet, but the fate of the car remained unknown.

B3 Car revealed that the purchased vehicle had gone through two auctions, one in 2024 and another in February of this year. It is believed that the auctioneer received the car back after the first sale and put it up for auction again without informing about the battery alteration.

The Renault Kwid E-Tech originally comes with a 26.8 kWh battery, offering a range of 185 km. It can be charged from different power sources, with charging times ranging from 40 minutes to nine hours.
